Anne Marie Hartman

Anne-Marie grew up playing in the fields, forests and beautiful sandy beaches of Prince Edward Island. From a very young age she held a deep connection with nature which led her to pursue an education in biology, environmental studies and conservation. Physically active and adventurous, Anne-Marie has been involved in a variety of sports and activities throughout her life including horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, figure skating, rugby, running and weightlifting.

In 2003, lifestyle choices coupled with an injury led to years of chronic pain and poor health, inhibiting her from living a full and free existence. This is when she discovered yoga and meditation. Yoga has since been integral to her healing and a guiding light through challenging times. Practicing various forms of yoga and bodywork over the years, Anne-Marie fell in love with Moksha Yoga where all her interests in art, science, environment, spirituality, holistic health, love and freedom have intersected. In January of 2012 she traveled to Brazil for the Moksha Teacher training, an amazing experience that has placed her on a wonderful path. In October of 2013 she traveled to Bali, Indonesia for a transformative 200 hr Vinyasa teacher training. An Island Girl through and through, she made the move in September 2014 to beautiful Vancouver Island. Aspiring to live a healthy, simple and sustainable lifestyle, she continues to deepen her personal practice and looks forward to growing with this lovely community.

Anne-Marie brings space and a grounding presence to her classes that slow down the body and calm the mind, bringing relief from the stresses of our fast paced society. She hopes to share with her students the peace, empathy and healing that yoga has brought her ultimately allowing people to reconnect with themselves.
